What It Is:
A nonprofit service corporation, Delta Dental provides quality dental benefits programs. More than three out of four dentists across the country participate in the Delta Dental provider network. ISTA FSP Insurance Trust partners with Delta Dental because providing superior customer service is a priority. Its customer service call center has been singled out for offering "world-class" service.
How It Works for You: Through the ISTA FSP Insurance Trust, Delta Dental offers an array of dental options from which to choose to ensure good oral health via preventive, replacement or orthodontic care. Here are examples of the plans we offer.
- Delta Premier:
A fee-for-service program with a large network of participating dentists who have agreed to accept Delta Dental's allowed amount for specific dental services rendered. Subscribers can select any licensed dentist; if they select one that does not participate with DeltaPremier, however, they are responsible for paying the difference, if any, between the dentist's fee and Delta Dental's payment.
- DeltaPreferred Option point-of-service (DPO):
A preferred provider program that can reduce out-of-pocket expenses for subscribers if they use a dentist participating in DPO or DeltaPremier. Subscribers can select any licensed dentist, but they will receive the highest level of benefits by selecting a DPO member dentist. Subscribers can choose a dentist that is not in the DPO or DeltaPremier networks, but they are then responsible for any difference between the Delta Dental's allowed amount and the dentist's submitted amount.
- Traditional:
A fee-for-service program in which benefit payments, based on Delta Dental's allowed amount, are made directly to the patients instead of to the dentist. Dentists in this program can charge the difference, if any, between the fee they charge and the allowed amount. The program does not have a panel of participating dentists, so a subscriber can select any licensed dentist.
Employees who participate in a Delta Dental plan can access information online about their specific benefit levels, eligibility, claims, and more by logging onto the Subscriber Toolkit , a user-friendly, interactive feature that appears on its Web site: www.deltadentalin.com.
